Oriental Lamb Burgers

450g/1lb Minced Lamb
1 teasp finely chopped Lemon Grass
1 Small Onion, finely chopped
1 Chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
1 tbsp Freshly chopped Mint
The Juice and finely grated Zest of 1 Lime
2 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
1 tbsp Thai Fish Sauce
1 tbsp Thai Curry Paste
Oil for brushing


1. Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl (apart from the oil) and mix well, squidging the mixture with your fingers.

2. Using damp hands, divide the mixture into 8 portions and form into small burgers, no thicker than 12mm/ -inch.

3. Brush the burgers with a little oil then cook over medium/hot coals for 5 - 7 minutes on each side or until cooked through.


Serving Suggestions


Serve on their own or in a bun with garnishes such as shredded lettuce, tomato slices and pickled gherkin slices

Tips, Options and Substitutions

Can also be cooked conventionally by grilling or frying for around the same length of time.

Using a hamburger press as shown above, cuts down on the amount of time it takes to make each burger and ensures all your burgers are the same size and so cook at the same time
