Barbecued Salmon with Herbs


HT  BBQ  MC  15mins plus refrigeration



Serves  4

60ml/2fl.oz. Olive Oil

1 tbsp Dried Parsley

1 tbsp Dried Thyme

1 tbsp Dried Rosemary

1 Garlic Clove, crushed

The juice of 1 Lemon

4 Salmon Steaks





1. Mix together all the ingredients (apart from the salmon) in a bowl and blend well. 


2. Place the salmon steaks in a shallow dish then pour the marinade over the top of the fish. Turn the fish several times to thoroughly coat. Cover with clingfilm and refrigerate for 30 minutes.


3. Grill the fish over medium hot coals for 4-5 minutes on each side, basting with any remaining marinade. Serve hot.

Marinate -    To soak foods in a marinade to enhance the flavour.  It also sometimes has the effect of tenderising foods such as meat.


Tips, Options and Substitutions


This recipe also works well with tuna and swordfish

Using a hinged wire basket makes  turning fish steaks much easier as there's no fear of the fish breaking up
