Chargrilled Scallops 


HT  HD  BBQ  15mins plus marinating



Serves 4   Hot  Starter   Appetizer  Shellfish Barbecues  Hors d’oeuvre Seafood  Gluten Wheat Dairy Free  Eggless




   8 Fresh Scallops, removed from their shell

   60ml/2fl.oz. Olive Oil

   4 tbsp Lemon Juice

   2 teasp Salt

   White Pepper







1. In a bowl, mix together the oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.


2. Add the scallops and mix well. Leave to marinate for 30 minutes.


3. Remove the scallops from the bowl, reserving the marinade, and place in a well oiled hinged basket. Alternative, thread onto skewers.


4. Cook over hot coals for 8-10 minutes, turning from time to time and basting with the remaining marinade. Serve immediately.

Marinate - To soak foods in a marinade to enhance the flavour. It also sometimes has the effect of tenderising foods such as meat.

Baste - To moisten with the pan juices or other liquid during cooking. This aids in moisture retention.
