Beef with Mushrooms

Braising Steak, cubed
tbsp Vegetable Oil
teasp Ground Ginger
teasp Ground Coriander
teasp Ground Cloves
tbsp Soy Sauce
fl.oz. Beef Stock
Carrots, cut into matchsticks
oz Spring Onions, shredded
Preheat the oven to 180C, 350F, Gas Mark 4. Heat half the oil in a large frying
pan, add the beef and brown on all sides. Transfer to a casserole dish.
Place the ginger, coriander, cloves, soy sauce and stock in a saucepan and bring
to the boil, stirring.
Pour the stock mixture over the beef,
add the carrots, cover
and bake for 1˝ hours or until the
beef is tender.
Just before serving, heat the remaining oil in a large frying pan add the
mushrooms and spring onions and sauté for a few minutes until just tender.
Add the vegetable mixture to the beef, mix well and serve hot.
