NB: If serving as part of a traditional Indonesian meal, i.e. a rice/noodle dish plus 2-3 other dishes, reduce the quantity of beef to 675g/1-1/2lb Ingredients 900g/2lb
Sirloin Steak, cut into 2.5cm/1-inch cubes 1
Onion, chopped 2
Garlic Cloves, finely chopped

tbsp Ground Coriander 1 tbsp Ground Turmeric
1
teasp Ground Ginger 120ml/4fl.oz.
Coconut Milk 50g/2oz
Freshly grated Coconut 2
tbsp Lemon Juice 3
tbsp Brown Sugar Salt
and Pepper Instructions 1.
Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to the boil mixing well.

Reduce the heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes only. 3.
Remove from the heat and remove the meat from the cooking liquid with a slotted
spoon onto a plate and allow to cool until cold enough to handle. 4.
Preheat the grill to medium hot. Thread
the meat onto skewers then grill for 8-10 minutes, turning 2 or 3 times, or
until cooked through. Serve hot with or without a sate sauce. Excellent
barbecued. Also good served as a starter – just halve the amount of meat.
