Beef with Onions HT MC 90mins
Serves 4 Hot Beef Vegetables Herbs Spices Main Course Eggless
Ingredients: 450g/1lb Braising Steak 350g/12oz Onions, sliced into rings 25g/1oz Butter 1 tbsp Oil 1 tbsp Flour 300ml/10 fl.oz. Fresh Beef Stock 1 Garlic Clove, crushed 1/2 teasp Cumin 1/2 teasp Dried Marjoram 2 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar Salt and Black Pepper
Instructions
1. Slice the meat across the grain and cut into 5cm/2inch strips.
2. Melt the butter and oil in a frying pan, add the onions and cover, covered, over a gently heat until soft and transparent. Remove from pan and reserve.
3. Increase the heat then add the meat and brown on all sides. Add the reserved onion, sprinkle with flour and cook, stirring, for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add the stock, garlic, cumin, marjoram, wine vinegar, salt and pepper and mix well. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Serve hot.
