4 Hot Beef Vegetables
Onion, finely chopped
Lean Minced Beef
Garlic Clove, crushed
tbsp Tomato Purée
heaped teasp Dried Mixed Herbs
Preheat the oven to 180C, 350F, Gas Mark 4 and grease a 900ml/1 1/2 pt loaf tin and line it with greaseproof paper.
Melt the butter in a pan add the onions and cook until soft and transparent. Remove from the heat then add the meat,
breadcrumbs, garlic, tomato purée, herbs,
salt and pepper.
Mix well then add the egg. Spoon the mixture into the prepared loaf tin, level the surface then cover with foil.
Stand the tin in a larger roasting tin containing 2.5cm/1inch of water. Bake in the oven for 1½ hours.
To serve - turn the loaf onto a warmed serving platter and peel off the paper. Serve hot with an onion sauce.
