Ingredients
1 Egg
240ml/8fl.oz. Warm Water
1 teasp salt
600g/1lb 5oz Plain Flour
Sugar to taste (about 1 tbsp)
Vegetable Oil for frying
Instructions
1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the egg, water, salt flour and sugar and
once it starts to come together knead to a soft elastic dough.
2. Divide the mixture into eight, form each piece into a ball, cover with
clingfilm and leave to rest for at least 30 minutes.
3. Roll each dough ball into a circle about 18cm/7-inches in diameter.
4. Heat enough oil to just cover the base of a large frying pan then fry one
roti, for a few minutes on each side until golden brown. Repeat with the
remaining rotis. Serve hot or cold.
