Rustic Cheese Bread Veg CD CBF 85mins
Makes 1 loaf Cold Vegetarian Savoury Breads Baked Fayre
Ingredients 250g/11oz
Whole-Wheat flour
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 190C, 375F, Gas Mark 5. In large bowl, mix together the flours, baking powder, soda, salt and cheese.
2. In another bowl, mix together the Golden Syrup, egg and buttermilk.
3. Add the buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture s and mix until well combined.
4. Turn onto a surface which has been sprinkled with the oats and knead well.
5. Shape the dough into a ball and place on a greased baking tray. Flatten the dough slightly then cut a deep "X" into top with a sharp knife. Bake for about 1 hour, sprinkling with a little grated cheese for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
