A traditional Christmas Macaroons recipe
Cold Vegetarian Nuts Biscuits Cookies Baked fayre Gluten Wheat Dairy free Britain Europe
Ingredients 1 Egg White 50g/2oz Ground Almonds 50g/2oz Caster Sugar 1/2 teasp Ground Cinnamon Almond flakes to decorate
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180C, 350F, Gas Mark 4 and line some baking trays with rice paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg white until stiff.
3. Fold in the ground almonds, sugar and cinnamon, blending well.
4. Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto the lined baking trays, spacing well apart.
5. Decorate the top of each biscuit with 3 or 4 flaked almonds then bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden, firm and crisp.
6. Remove from the oven and cool on the trays. Once cold, trim away the excess rice paper.
