Chocolate Sesame Tart Veg CD DP 20mins plus chilling
Serves 6 Cold Vegetarian Dessert Flan
Ingredients 1 x 20cm/8-inch pre-baked Pastry Flan case 100g/4oz Plain Chocolate 2 Egg Yolks 150ml/5fl.oz. Whipping Cream 3 tbsp Caster Sugar 4 teasp Sesame Seeds, lightly toasted
Instructions
N.B. Make sure the pastry case is fully cooked and completely cold before filling.
1. Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a heat proof bowl.
2. Place the bowl over a small saucepan of very hot water and stir the chocolate until melted.
3. Remove from the heat and mix in the egg yolks, one at a time, until well blended. Transfer to a large mixing bowl and allow to cool.
4. Place the cream in a large mixing bowl and whip until soft peaks form.
5. Fold the sugar into the cream then fold the cream mixture into the cooled chocolate mixture and blend well.
6. Pour the filling into the cold pastry case, smooth the top and chill for 1 hour.
7. To serve - sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the flan and serve immediately.
