A Weekday Menu Recipe

 

 

Honey Poached Apple   Veg  HT  DP  English  20mins

Serves 4     Hot  Vegetarian  Fruit  Dessert  Pudding  England  British  Europe

 

Ingredients
50g/2oz Butter

25g/1oz Brown Sugar

The zest and juice of 1 large Orange

The Juice of ½ Lemon

3 tbsp Runny Honey

4 Medium dessert Apples

Cream to serve


Instructions

1. Place the butter, sugar orange juice and rind, lemon juice and honey in a medium sized frying pan and heat gently, stirring from time to time.

2.  Peel, quarter lengthways and core the apples, then cut each quarter  in half lengthways again.

 

3. Add to the pan and cook gently for 10-15 minutes, turning from time to time.

 

Serve hot with double cream or crème fraîche.
