Upside Down Date Cake Veg HT DP 55mins
Ingredients 75g/3oz Butter or
Margarine 150g/+5oz Brown
sugar
1. Preheat the oven to 180C, 350F, Gas Mark 4 and lightly grease an ovenproof dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
3. Sift the dry ingredients into the bowl and gradually add the milk, beating to a smooth consistency.
4. Stir in the dates, nuts and vanilla extract and mix well.
5. Pour into the greased dish and set aside.
6. Place the sauce ingredients in a saucepan and heat, stirring, until well blended.
7. Pour the sauce over the cake mixture then bake for 30 minutes. Serve hot.
