Baked Rice Pudding   Veg  HT   CD   DP  British 100mins


Serves   2    Hot  Cold   Vegetarian  Desserts Puddings  Gluten Wheat Free  Eggless  Britain  Europe



   4 tbsp short-grain rice

   500ml/1pt Milk

   2 tbsp Sugar

   Grated Nutmeg




1. Preheat the oven to 150C, 300F, Gas mark 2 and lightly grease a 750ml/1-1/4pt pie dish with butter.


2. Heat the milk in a saucepan to almost boiling point then remove from the heat and stir in the sugar. Add the rice and mix well.


3.  Transfer the rice and liquid to the pie dish and sprinkle the grated nutmeg over the top. Place the dish, on a baking tray and bake for 1 to 1-1/2 hours until the skin turns a  golden brown. Serve hot or cold.
