4 Apples

25g/1oz Chopped Walnuts

25g/1oz Dates

25g/1oz Glace Cherries

50g/2oz Dark Brown Sugar

4 tbsp White Wine (Check manufacture)

90ml/3 fl.oz Dark Rum





1. Preheat the oven to  200C, 400F,  Gas mark 6.


2. Wash and core the apples. If necessary, cut a slice off the bottom of each apple so it stands upright. Place in a greased ovenproof dish.


3. Mix the chopped nuts and sugar together and fill the centre of each apple with the nut mixture. Pour a l1 tbsp of wine over each apple and bake in the oven for 20 minutes.


4. To serve - warm the rum in a small saucepan or ladle, pour over the apples and carefully set alight. Serve immediately.
