Traditional Baked Apples Veg HT DP British 35mins
Serves 4 Hot Fruit Vegetarian Dessert Puddings Britain Europe
Ingredients 4 Large Apples 8 tbsp Jam 25g/1oz Butter 4 tbsp Water 4 tbsp Caster Sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 357F, 190C, Gas mark 5.
2. Wash, dry and core the apples. If necessary, cut a thin slice off the base so the apples don't fall over when placed upright.
3. Place in a greased ovenproof dish and fill each apple with jam. Add a small knob of butter to each.
4. Put the water in the bottom of the dish and bake for 25 minutes.
5. To serve sprinkle with sugar.
