Devilled Herrings HT MC English 25mins
Serves 4 Hot Fish Spices Main Course Eggless England British Europe
Ingredients 4 Herrings, cleaned and gutted 4 teasp Mustard 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce ½ teasp Cayenne Pepper 25g/1oz Melted Butter
Instructions
1. Preheat the grill to hot.
2. Remove the heads from the fish, and make 3 shallow diagonal cuts on both sides of each one.
3. Place the mustard, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne in a small bowl, mix well and place a little of the mixture in in each of the cuts in the fish.
3. Place the fish in a foil lined grill pan, brush with melted butter and cook under a hot grill for 5-10 minutes on each side depending on the size of the fish, until cooked through. Serve immediately.
