1 teasp Salt
1 teasp Turmeric
(check ingredients label)
1 Onion, chopped
3 Garlic Cloves, sliced
Cumin seeds to garnish
1. Wash the lentils well and check for
any small stones. Place in a large saucepan together with the water, onions, salt,
turmeric, garlic and the 2 whole chilies.
2. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer
for 20 minutes until the lentils are soft.
3. To serve - transfer to a warmed
serving dish, sprinkle with the cumin seeds and
serve very hot with plain boiled rice.
