Main Course Salads
We came across this UK National food week on the internet a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately, we couldn't find who organises it so we're are not sure which
week has been chosen for this year. However there is a US National Salad week
which always falls during the last week in July - 25th - 31st.
The first thing which comes to mind is usually items
such as lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and the like. One
definition of salad found on the net
" food mixtures either arranged on a plate or tossed
and served with a moist dressing; usually consisting of or
including greens "
If you decide to go for a
straight-forward leaf/vegetable salad, don't forget the dressing.
Dressings section to find just the right one for you.
Why not add extra flavour and colour by adding some flower
petals too. Many flowers are edible and we have a whole
section dedicated to them to help guide you. You can find a
link to the Edible Flower section at the top of this page.
today many other recipes have the word "salad" in their
title which don't utilise these traditional salad
ingredients. Below are just a few of the many on this site.
