Noodles with Cottage Cheese   HT  ACC  Hungarian  20mins

 

Hungarian name:  Túróscsusza 

 

 

Serves 4   Hot  Pasta  Pork Accompaniment  Hungary  Eastern Europe

 

 

Ingredients

225g/8oz  Noodles 

200g/7oz Cottage Cheese 

1 teasp finely chopped Dill 

50g/2oz  Streaky Bacon, diced

450ml/15fl.oz. Sour Cream

 

 

Instructions

 

1. Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil, add the noodles and cook for 8-10 minutes, until just tender.

 

2. Meanwhile, heat a large pan until very hot, add the bacon and cook, turning, until browned and crispy.  Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. 

 

3. Drain the cooked noodles, add to the pan in which the bacon was fried and stir in the sour cream. Mix well over a low heat.

 

4. Add the crumbled cottage-cheese and chopped dill then transfer immediately  a warmed serving dish. 

 

5. Sprinkle the  fried bacon on top and serve at once.
