Gratin de Nouilles    Veg    HT   ACC   French   60mins

Serves 4    Hot   Vegetarian   Pasta    Accompaniment  France  Europe

 

 

Ingredients:

175g/6oz Tagliatelle

Salt and Black pepper

300ml/10fl.oz. White sauce

2 Eggs

175g/3oz Grated cheese

 

Instructions

 

1. Bring a large pan of salted water and cook the noodles in for about 10 minutes until tender. Preheat the oven to 200C, 400F, Gas mark 6. Grease the ovenproof dish.

 

2. Separate the eggs. Stir the yolks, 75g/3oz of the cheese and the ham into sauce. Add the noodles and season to taste.

 

3. Whisk the egg whites in a bowl until stiff but not dry and fold into the mixture with metal spoon. Pour the mixture into the ovenproof dish, sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese and bake in the centre of the oven for about 30 minutes until set and golden. Serve immediately.
