Sausage Flan HT MC English 55 mins Serves 4 Hot Pork Bacon Herbs Main Course England British EuropeIngredients 200g/7oz Shortcrust Pastry 1 Onion, finely chopped 4 Rashers Streaky Bacon, chopped 25g/1oz Butter 1 Egg 300g/11oz Sausage meat 1 teasp Dried Mixed Herbs Salt and Pepper
Instructions 1. Preheat the oven to 200C, 400F, gas mark 6. Roll out the pastry to 12mm/ 1/4 inch and use to line an 18cm/7inch flan tin.
2. Melt the butter in a frying pan, add the onion and bacon and fry until golden.
3. In a bowl, mix together the sausage meat, onion, bacon, herbs, egg, salt and pepper. Spread this mixture over the pastry case then bake for 15 minutes.
4. Reduce the oven temperature to 170C, 325F, Gas mark 3 and continue to cook for a further 20-25 minutes. Serve immediately.
