Cardamom Sauce Veg CD

Makes approx 360ml/12fl.oz. Cold Vegetarian
Herbs Spices Savoury Sauces Accompaniment Dairy free Eggless
¼ teasp Cardamom Seeds
½ tbsp freshly chopped Mint
¼ teasp salt
120ml/4fl.oz. Port (wine)
1. Place the water, honey and cardamom seeds in a small saucepan and heat over a
very low heat, stirring. Continue to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
2. Add the mint and salt , mix well and continue to simmer for a further 3
minutes. Remove from heat and leave to cool.
3. When ready to serve, add the port and mix well, adding a little more port if
it seems too thick. Serve at room temperature.
Very good served with roast beef.
