Chilli Cumin Sauce for Meatballs    HT  ACC  20mins


Serves 4       Hot Vegetables Herbs Spices Accompaniment Savoury Sauce Eggless

Ingredients
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 medium Onion, finely chopped
1 Garlic Clove, crushed
1 x 400g/14oz Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
1 teasp Chili Powder
˝ teasp Ground Cumin
1 tbsp Freshly Chopped Oregano
Salt

Instructions

1. Heat the oil in medium saucepan until quite hot then add the onion and garlic and sauté for 4-5 minutes, stirring, until golden brown.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil, stirring.

3. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

You can then add well browned walnut sized meatballs to the sauce and continue to cook for a further 5-10 minutes, spooning the sauce over the meatballs from time to time.
