Dessert Fig Sauce

Makes approx. 600ml/20fl.oz. Hot
Vegetarian Sweet Sauces Accompaniment Gluten Wheat Free Eggless
8-10 fresh Figs, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp Butter or Margarine
2 teasp Cornflour
3 tbsp Orange Juice
1. Place the figs, sugar, water, and butter in saucepan, bring to the boil, then
reduce the heat and simmer for 5-8 minutes until the figs are tender.
2. Meanwhile, place cornstarch and orange juice in a small bowl and mix until

constantly, until thickened.
Serve warm over ice cream or cake based desserts e.g. angel cake.
