Rose Petal Sauce    Veg   HT  CD  ACC  70mins

Makes approx 480ml/16fl.oz.     Hot Cold Vegetarian Vegan Edible Flowers Blossoms   Accompaniment Sweet Sauce   Gluten Wheat Dairy Free Eggless

480ml/16fl.oz. Rose Petals (Blossom)
240ml/8fl.oz. Water
225g/8oz Sugar
Red food colouring (optional)


1. Place the rose petals, water and sugar in a saucepan, bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 1 hour.

2. Strain the mixture through a sieve then return to the saucepan, add a few drops of the food colouring if using, mix well and bring back to the boil.

Serve warm or cold on cakes, desserts and ice cream.
