Gluten Free Cranberry Apple Crisp   HT  Veg   DP  70mins


Serves 4-6    Hot   Fruit  Vegetarian   Desserts   Puddings   Gluten Wheat Free   Eggless





For the filling

6 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

450g/16oz Cranberry Sauce

175g/6oz Granulated Sugar

2 tbsp GF Flour Mix

For the topping

50g/2oz  Hazelnuts, chopped

75g/3oz Roughly Chopped Almonds

75g/3oz Brown Sugar

150g/5oz  GF Flour Mix

1 teasp Ground Cinnamon (Check ingredients label)

50g/2oz Butter, melted

Vanilla ice cream or Whipped Cream to serve





1. Preheat the oven to 190C, 375F Gas mark 5. 


2. Place the sliced apples in  an oven proof dish about 23x33cm/9x13 inches. 


3. Place the cranberry sauce, sugar and 2 tablespoons of GF flour in a large mixing bowl and mix well. 


4. Pour the cranberry mixture over the apples and toss to coat evenly. 


5. Place the hazelnuts, almonds, brown sugar, remaining GF flour and cinnamon in a large bowl and mix well. Add the melted butter to flour mixture, and stir until well blended. 


6. Sprinkle the topping over fruit mixture evenly. Bake for  35-40 minutes or until fruit is tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped whipped cream.
