Flemish Sprouts   Veg  HT  ACC  Belgian  25mins


Belgian Name: Choux De Bruxelles A La Flamande



Serves 4    Hot  Vegetables  Vegetarian  Accompaniment  Gluten Wheat free  Eggless  Belgium  Europe  



675g/1-1/2 lbs. Button Brussels Sprouts, trimmed and washed

6 tbsp Butter

A pinch of freshly grated Nutmeg

Salt and Pepper




1. Place the sprouts in a large saucepan, cover with  salted water then bring to a boil and cook, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes or until tender. Drain well.


2. Heat the butter in a large frying pan over high heat until it browns. 


3. Add the drained sprouts and lightly brown on all sides. 


4. To serve - transfer to a heated serving dish, sprinkle with nutmeg, salt and pepper and serve immediately.
