Mashed
Potatoes Recipe

Serves 4 Hot Vegetarian Vegetables
Accompaniment Gluten Wheat Free Eggless
Ingredients
675g/1˝lb Potatoes
50g/2oz Butter
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Peel the potatoes, cut into large chunks, place in a large pan of water and
bring to the boil over a high heat.
2. Add some salt, reduce the heat slightly and cook for about 20 minutes until
tender.
3. Drain the cooked potatoes in a colander very well then return to the saucepan
over a low heat, allow them to dry out a little more then mash with a potato
masher until there are no lumps.
4. Add the butter and pepper to taste and mix well with a wooden spoon.
Variations: You can add extra ingredients once the potatoes have been mashed
such as:-
Freshly chopped chives
Fried chopped onions
Grated Cheese
Cooked bacon bits
