Milk Carrots     Veg  HT  ACC  Irish  30mins


Irish name: Sleieve na mBan


Serves 4    Hot  Vegetarian  VegetableAccompaniment   Gluten Wheat free  Ireland  British  Europe



50g/2oz Butter

120ml/4fl.oz. Milk

Salt and Pepper

16 baby Carrots, halved lengthways

120ml/4fl.oz. Double Cream

2 Egg yolks

1 tbsp Freshly Chopped Parsley




1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan then add the milk,  salt, pepper and carrots and cook gently over a medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until just tender.


2. Remove from heat, add the cream and beaten egg yolks and mix well.


3. Return to a low heat and cook, stirring constantly,  until the mixture thickens.


4. Adjust the seasoning, sit in the parsley and serve immediately.
