Minted Peas Recipe

Veg  HT  ACC  English  15mins

A simple,  traditional and popular English side dish, often served with lamb as the perfect accompaniment.

Serves 4    Hot Vegetarian Vegetables Herbs Accompaniment Gluten wheat Free Eggless England British Europe

Ingredients
450/1lb Green Peas
25g/1oz Butter
1 heaped tbsp Freshly chopped Mint

Instructions

1. Place 2.5cm/1-inch of water in a large saucepan, bring to the boil then add the peas, cover and cook over a medium heat for 5-8 minutes or until peas are tender.

2. Drain the cooked peas then return them to the saucepan together with the butter and mint and stir over a low heat until the butter has melted and the peas are well coated with the mint. Serve immediately.

Top:   If you can't get hold of fresh mint, try using 1-2 teaspoons of ready made mint sauce  instead.
