Cabbage with Juniper   Veg  HT   ACC   20mins

Serves 4      Hot   Vegetarian Vegetables   Accompaniment   Gluten Wheat Free  Eggless 

 

 

Ingredients:

25g/1oz Butter

1 teasp Olive Oil

1 Onion, chopped

1 Garlic Clove, crushed

6 Juniper Berries, lightly crushed

450g/1lb Cabbage

Salt and Pepper

 

 

Instructions

 

1. Quarter the cabbage, remove the central core and shred.

 

2. Melt the butter and oil in a large saucepan, add the onion, garlic and juniper berries and gently fry for 5 minutes until soft.

 

3. Add the cabbage, salt and pepper, stir well cover and cook very gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.

An unusual dish to serve at Christmas or Easter with Roast Turkey, Goose or Pork.
