Potato Dumplings     Veg  HT  ACC   British  50mins

Serves 4    Hot  Vegetarian Vegetables  Accompaniment   Britain  Europe



3 Medium sized Potatoes

25g/1oz Plain Flour

25g/1oz Fresh White Breadcrumbs

25g/1oz Butter

2 Eggs

Salt & Pepper

A pinch of Nutmeg

1.1L/40fl.oz. boiling Water or Vegetable stock




1. Boil the potatoes in their skins for 25 minutes or until tender. Peel and mash in a bowl. Add the other ingredients and mix well. If the mixture seems too soft, mix in a little extra flour.


2. Using floured hands, form into 8 balls.


3. Cook steadily in the boiling stock or seasoned water for 10-15 minutes. Drain well. Serve with stews or casseroles.
