Red Cabbage with Pears Veg

Garlic Clove, cut in half lengthways
675g/1˝lb Red Cabbage, finely shredded
Large firm Pears, peeled, cored and thickly
fl.oz. Fresh Vegetable Stock
tbsp Lemon Juice
Knob of Butter (optional - not suitable for vegans)
Rub the garlic around the sides of a large ovenproof casserole dish. Place half
shredded cabbage in the dish then top with a layer of pears. Season with salt
pepper then repeat the layers.
2. Pour over the stock and lemon juice and bake in the oven for 1˝ to 2 hours
To serve - add a knob of butter (if using), adjust the seasoning and mix well. Serve
served with Goose, turkey or game birds especially at Christmas or Easter.
