Baked Brie with Mushrooms HT Veg HD 30mins
Serves 4 Hot Vegetarian Vegetables Alcohol Nuts Herbs Hors d'oeuvre Starter Appetizer Gluten Wheat Free Eggless
Ingredients 25g/1oz Butter 1 small Garlic Clove, crushed 1 tbsp Slivered Almonds 125g/5oz Mushrooms, sliced 2 teasp Brandy or Cognac 1 teasp Freshly chopped Tarragon 175g/6oz Brie Cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180C, 350F Gas Mark 4. Remove the rind from the brie, cut into large cubes and divide between 4 small ramekins. Set aside.
2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and almonds, heating until almonds are lightly browned.
3. Add the mushrooms and sauté gently for 5 minutes or until soft.
4. Add the brandy and tarragon and mix well.
5. Pour the mushroom and brandy mixture over Brie, place on a baking tray and bake for 15- 20 minutes, or until bubbly. Serve hot.
This makes a quick, easy starter especially useful at Christmas and Easter.
