Tackling a whole fresh lobster for the first time can be a daunting prospect. This short video shows you how to deal with extracting the meat in easy step by step instructions, making sure you get as much of the delicious flesh out as possible.  See notes below.

 

 

 

 

 

Although this video shows live lobsters being added to boiling water, there are other methods of cooking which some may find easier to cope with.

 

1. It is believed placing them in the freezer for an hour before cooking renders them unconcious.

 

2. Plunge a sharp knife straight down right behind the lobster's eyes.

3. Place the lobster in a large pot of cold water and gradually increase the heat until it is hot which desensitizes it.
